Mai has been practicing physical therapy since 2000 with her primary focus on outpatient orthopedics. She focuses on utilizing her manual skills, developing comprehensive treatment plan, emphasizing patient education and individualizing exercise programs for every patient depending upon their individual needs. She also has experience in a variety of settings including inpatient acute, neurological rehabilitation, pain management and aquatic therapy.
At the University of Southern California, Mai earned her Doctorate and Bachelor degrees. In 2000, Mai earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and in 1995 she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Mai also participated on the USC Track and Cross-Country Teams as an undergraduate.
In 2002, she completed a year-long Orthopedic Manual Therapy Course through Kaiser Permanente. This course is an Australian-based assessment examination and treatment procedure. She continues to pursue ongoing continuing education courses to augment clinical reasoning/diagnosis, manual techniques and to maintain current with the latest research-based treatment approach for patient care.
Mai’s attention to detail allows her to provide individualized personal care for each of her patients as well as overseeing the organization of the clinic. She is dedicated to providing quality patient care by developing individualized exercise prescription for each of her patients, one-on-one treatment approach and promoting health and wellness. Mai is fluent in English, Vietnamese and Spanish.
Mai lives in Huntington Beach with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys long runs and bike rides with the family.
